The practice switch is greyed out and will not respond
The switch is disabled until a decoder is connected, so nothing can be recorded when no data is coming in. Connect a device on the Decoder page and the switch becomes available.
Windows blocked the install or the first launch
The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC”. Click “More info” → “Run anyway” to continue.
Other devices on the LAN cannot open the timing interface
First make sure the device is on the same subnet as the timing host, then allow TCP port 4000 through the Windows firewall. Phones, tablets and other computers opening the timing interface in a browser all use that port.
There is no network at the venue. Does it still work?
Yes. Timing, ranking, statistics and voice announcements all run locally on the timing host, so racing continues as usual. Only the weather display needs internet, and it can be switched off at any time; the cloud archive is now free — apply in the app with your venue name and phone number, and your data syncs to your own account once approved.
MYLAPS RC4 will not connect
Check that the decoder and the timing host are on the same local network and that the IP and port are right (default <decoder-ip>:<port>), and that no other software has already claimed the decoder.
Does it update itself? Will my data be lost?
The desktop build checks for updates and can download and install a new version from inside the app. Training data lives in a local database file, is not cleared by an update, and can be backed up directly.
Which languages are supported? Can more be added?
English, Chinese and Japanese are built in, and the interface language and announcement language can be switched separately. Other languages are available as custom work: tell us which languages you need and how you will use them, and both the interface text and the spoken phrases can be arranged. Email xuyi@incomsports.com.
Is there a macOS or Linux version?
Only a Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) installer is provided at the moment; no other platform builds exist.
Is there an iOS or Android app?
An iOS app is coming soon. For now, iPhone, iPad and Android devices open the timing host’s address in their browser (Safari on iOS works) and see the same live data, so phones and tablets work as viewing screens without going through an app store. The host itself stays on Windows: the decoders connect to it, so a phone cannot take over as the timing host.
